Great Lakes, Illinois

Company 297

1950

Do you see yourself here?

Not another shot!

Make my next one Jack Daniel's.

What a fit!

Pants too long and baggy.

No shoes.

Sleeves too short.

I wonder who made these uniforms?

Row! Row! Row your boat.

Marching to class

The art of marching is to have all tall guys in the front and have the little guys keep up.

Final Inspection

Looking good.

Turned Loose.

Some went East and some went West.

I was sent East to the Sixth Fleet.

Which ship are you assigned to?

I have been assigned to the USS Columbus and it is in Plymouth England. (Went aboard in December 1950)

USS Columbus CA 74

Home for three years, nine months and 22 days. They say join the Navy and see the world. [I found that to be true]
